The recipient of any award must be willing to attend the 2012 ILCFR conference to receive the award in person.
Below are the awards:
Outstanding Service Award
This award will be given to an individual who may or may not be a member of ILCFR. Professionals and/or advocates are eligible for this award if they have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the field by having
- implemented or improved a program designed to help individuals or families,
- directed or managed a program designed to help individuals or families,
- played a role in the initiation of policy changes that empower families, or
- published a recent manuscript that has an impact on some type of family policy or family life programming.
Distinguished Member Award
This award will be given to an ILCFR member. Eligible persons must have made a significant contribution to ILCFR through
- offices held,
- committee work,
- presentations,
- years of active membership,
- publications or creative activities , and
- contributions to Illinois at large (e.g., community involvement, programs/projects that impact family life education in Illinois).
Faculty Mentor Award
This award will be given to a professor or university or college faculty member, who may or may not be a member of ILCFR. A person is eligible for this award if he/she has demonstrated the ability to provide the following for college or university students:
- intellectual growth and development,
- career or professional development,
- positive role modeling, and
- professional guidance for the ILCFR conference.
Outstanding Student Research Award
This award will be given to an undergraduate or graduate student, who may or may not be a member of ILCFR. A student is eligible for this award if he/she has demonstrated a significant contribution to research in the field of marriage or family life and
- attends and presents his/her work at the ILCFR annual conference this year, and
- has submitted work on a similar topic for the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) this year.
**Awards will not be given to anyone who is NOT registered to attend the annual conference.
