The 2014 ILCFR Conference on Family Safety and Security was held on March 7th at the ISU Alumni Center. We kicked off the conference with an excellent keynote speaker, Dr. Lisa Moyer, Associate Professor in the Family and Consumer Science program at Eastern Illinois University. Dr. Moyer’s talk, Every breath you take, I’ll be watching you, addressed the topic of intimate partner violence and was a great start to our day of informative sessions.
Other breakout sessions focused on the wellbeing children and families related to food security, sleep, LGBT issues, aging issues, incarceration, and identity theft. A special afternoon session featured research posters from a diverse group of presenters. Thank you to all presenters and attendees for making the 2014 conference successful! The full Conference Program is available ILCFR 2014 program.

Elizabeth Holman won the Outstanding Student Research Award, Dr. Linda Derscheid won the Faculty Mentor Award, and Christina Yousaf won the Outstanding Service Award.
